Here is a beautiful story behind Holi, the colour of festivals. Young Krishna is well known to be playful and very naughty. Story says, in childhood Sri Krishna was insanely jealous of Radha's fair complexion and her heavenly glamour as Sri Krishna himself was very dark in his childhood. He would always complain to his mother that nature did so injustice by giving him a dark complexion, while Radha was given a beautiful and fair complexion.
After hearing the innocent sound of little Krishna and seeing his sad face, mother Yashoda playfully suggested him to color Radha’s face in whatever color he wanted. Always seeking for some fun, Krishna didn't want to lose this chance. Making her one like himself, naughty Krishna applied various colors to Sri Radha’s sweet face. Radha did not oppose him, all gopis came to her defense, but slowly they surrender themselves to Krishna's augmented character and started to enjoy the game of color.

Soon, it became one of the village's most popular festivals and with the development of Sri Krishna's divinity, the festival spread far beyond the country.
